Buttons
The Sardinian button is a symbol of fertility and has always carried with it archaic apotropaic values (warding off evil influences) and important signals about the wearer's status. Born as part of the typical Sardinian male and female costume, in pairs they would close the shirt at the neck, sometimes they were used to close the shirt's cuffs and, passed through buttonholes, they would close the sleeves of the jacket at the wrist. A series of buttons, varying in number from seven to twelve per sleeve, formed the button placket of the festive Logudorese women's dress.
Today, the Sardinian button has also become an integral part of jewelry, as in the case of our collection dedicated to this important accessory: earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, and rings handcrafted in silver filigree that thus become current and original accessories, ideal to wear on a special occasion or every day to carry Sardinia and its traditions with you.
